I like it
I use this when I travel and use a carry on only. This does the job and doesnât count as a liquid.

Great sun block for the face
I’ve tried Many face creams with some feeble SPF. This is superior. It’s Zinc Oxide, which is better than the various chemicals in more expensive face creams, serums or face primers. Blocks UVA and UVB rays. It’s not greasy, creamy, sticky, drying, irritating or smelly. 50 SPF. Easy to put on. No fragrance. Alone or under makeup. It even works as a pore diminisher!Yes, there’s a slight white cast. Because it’s Zinc Oxide. Cover with makeup or a tinted moisturizer if it bothers you. I prefer a slight cast to sun damage/skin cancer.

Don’t miss a spot!
I’m writing this review with the remains of an itchy, peeling sunburn on the back of my upper arm, so…there’s that. However, I’m pretty sure it was more my fault than the sunscreen’s. If you’ve never used stick sunscreen before, here is the vital fact you need to know: unlike liquid or spray sunscreens, stick sunscreens don’t spread out when you rub them into your skin. The sunscreen stays exactly, precisely in the exact, precise spot you applied it. Stick sunscreen is faster to apply than liquid and less messy than either liquids or sprays, but you must be vigilant about applying it in smooth, overlapping strokes. If you miss a spot, you’re toast–or at least you’ll end up with a well-toasted spot on your skin. But if you don’t miss a spot, this sunscreen works. I was out in the sun for several hours a day for several days in a row on vacation, waaaaayyy more sun than I usually get, as I’m the droniest of office drones. And I’m fair-skinned and burn pretty easily. But with this sunscreen, I didn’t get any burns except in the spot I apparently missed. (For the record, though, I used liquid sunscreen on my face and ears, as it’s easier to get liquid sunscreen into little crevices such as behind your ears.)In response to a common complaint about this sunscreen, yes, it will leave a white cast on your skin. That’s because it’s mineral sunscreen. To oversimplify the difference between chemical and mineral sunscreens, chemical sunscreens protect your skin from UV rays by absorbing the rays and converting them to heat, while mineral sunscreens physically block UV rays from your skin. The active ingredient in mineral sunscreens is a bright-white mineral compound, either zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. The particles of these bright-white compounds act like tiny mirrors to reflect the sun away from your skin. In short, mineral sunscreens pretty much have to be bright-white in order to do their job, because no other color reflects sunlight as efficiently.Obviously, you’ll have to decide for yourself how much the white cast of mineral sunscreens bothers you. If you decide you can’t stand it, use chemical sunscreen instead. (If you’re wondering how to tell whether the sunscreen you’re buying is chemical or mineral, look for the word “mineral” in the product name or description. If you don’t see the word “mineral,” it’s probably chemical.) Personally, I decided not to worry about the white cast. I figure that if people see me at the beach with a ghostly white tinge to my skin, most of them will be smart enough to realize that I look that way because I just applied sunscreen and not because I’m actually a ghost. And given a choice between being mistaken for a ghost or getting sunburned, I’ll go with being mistaken for a ghost.

Difficult to apply
It’s difficult to apply because you have to press hard. It also makes me feel like my skin is wet forcacwhile after I apply it even though its dry to the touch.

MUSTTTT
The thing about this product that I adore the most is Aveeno! This is one of the wonderful items from Aveeno that I have fallen in love with; it’s an amazing product that, when applied, leaves your skin feeling lovely. This is a must-have that I adore using every day before applying my makeup, it’s a game-changer. It’s also affordably priced, especially comparable to other products that are way smaller and cost much more. My go-to!

One of the best unscented stick options available.
This Aveeno sunblock stick is one of the best unscented stick sunblock options currently available. I’ve tried half a dozen different unscented sunblock sticks of comparable SPF rating and find this one to be the best in terms of consistency, effectiveness, and value. The consistency of this Aveeno stick is smoother than any of the other options I’ve tried; most tend to be either too waxy or too oily when applied, and this stick strikes a good balance between the two. As far as effectiveness, this has kept the skin on my hands and arms from getting sunburned with regular use. I have extremely sensitive, reactive skin, and this stick does not cause any allergic reactions or rashes over five years of usage so far. The only negative is that it does have a bit of a white cast, but I think all zinc based sticks have that; this one is not as bad as others I’ve tried. In addition, the size of this stick is the same as a regular deodorant stick, which is much larger than many of the tiny sunscreen stick options out there. Overall I would recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin looking for a sunblock stick option.

Having used one of the most well known / commonly used skin care and sunscreen products for years, I developed a severe allergic reaction to its use on my skin. This resulted in me seeing a dermatologist as the reaction was so severe. He suggested using Aveeno for skin care and a rather expensive brand of sunscreen (no, he wasnât affiliated or sponsored by them!).£50 later and with a ridiculously small bottle of sunscreen, I again suffered an extreme reaction to the product; meanwhile, Aveeno products used daily were great.I stumbled across this product and itâs been great. No problems whatsoever.Surprised, as are other reviewers, that this comes as a stick. After initial applications – especially on my face when I looked like a member of KISS – Iâve learnt to apply a small amount on the area, on my hands and to rub it in. After a brief âdampâ period it dries well. Nice feeling on the skin afterwards. Reapplied after 2 hours as directed and it appears to work well.Price could be prohibitive, but, ultimately, you pay for what you get and what price skin / sun care? The stick is unusual in such a product, but it goes on and covers well.Personally, as someone who has encountered skin problems in the form of allergic reactions, this is great. Highly recommended – as are all Averno products.

Use to use another brand, but was stopped being made, this is great for protection but does leave skin with a white sheen, have to rub in very well, but still seems to leave alittle.

I love this product. I have an annoying combination of very sensitive skin that reacts to most sunscreens and melasma – hyperpigmentation that gets worse with sun exposure. This sunscreen does leave a white cast but that’s true of all non tinted mineral sunscreens due to the ingredients. I like the stick format and I leave it by the door (along with a sun hat) so I never forget to put it on before I go outdoors and it’s not slimy or runny. I’ve been using it for a few months now and I haven’t had any reaction to it at all, it hasn’t broken me out or irritated my skin. It’s not cheap but it works for me.
