It’s a winner.
The instructions are easy to follow. It does require some basic embroidery skills but should not be too difficult even for a relatively inexperienced seamstress.

Great Christmas Project butâ¦
A fun project and I made this for my grandchildren to enjoy during the Christmas season. I found a âhow toâ video specifically for this tree that helped immensely in completing the tree and ornaments. It turned out really cute. The one thing that was unacceptable was that there were not enough sequins and thread to finish and had to make a trip to my local craft store (I might add that Iâm a frugal sewer) to purchase what was needed to finish. I believe this was mentioned in other reviews as well.

You canât do better without these kits!
Loved making this beautiful piece. My grandma and great grandma used to make these for each family members household and now i am continuing their traditions. Along with the homemade stockings. You couldnât come up with better than these kits do!!

Very entertaining
It was a great pleasure to make this tree. Everything is clear, all the materials were of high quality

Disappointed in quality of felt, the embroidery floss and the printing
This kit gets a 3 because I could complete the project and the end product looks pretty good. I have concerns that it will not last the way other Bucilla project kits I have done do to inferior quality of the various components. My mother and I have been huge fans of Bucilla felt kits for more than 50 years. My family has made tree skirts, advent calendars, stockings, and dozens upon dozens of felt ornaments, all produced by Bucilla. I made stockings for my husband and I in 1987 and they are still in great shape and usable. I do not think this advent calendar will last as long. The Green felt that is the main body of the tree and the white felt that is the main body of the ornaments is a high quality dense felt. All of the accessory colors, red, yellow, lite green, and brown are of an inferior quality, thin felt. It does not work well when trying to do a satin stitch, and is far more likely to show through knots or if your work on the back is messy than the heavier felt. Not to mention that the printing on the red fabric is so bad you can hardly see the lines to make the correct cuts!Embroidery floss quality was terrible! It was very prone to tangling and breakage. You could, with very little effort, break the strands while trying to separate them. It also wanted to fuzz like the thread was not twisted enough to hold its strength. I am experienced in embroidery. I used the correct number of strands, worked with 12 to 18 inches of floss and waxed the thread. It.was.terrible! I ended up going into my stash of DMC floss for matching colors and just didn’t use the majority of the floss provided. The sequins were very un- uniform in where the holes were punched and some the color was patchy. The beads were of ok quality and relatively uniform in size.I wanted to make an advent calendar that my family member would cherish and use for a lifetime as they move into their first home. I just don’t think this one will go the distance.

RAN OUT OF THREAD AND SEQUINS.
First off let me say I love this advent calendar, I made it for my daughter so she could have a tradition. BUT as I was going through the steps I was slowly starting to have to get more red and green embroidery thread and completelt ran out of green sequin. I have ridiculous amounts every other color sequin. The instructions were hard to follow and not very detailed, luckily I found a video tutorial. Hopefully they can address these issues for future purchasers.

pretty,pretty,pretty..
I love Bucilla their product are all beautiful I’ve done over 40 of these pieces. This piece is no different it’s a very large tree with great detail. Not for the novice crafter lots of scroll work.Worth every cent. Happy sewing…

Really nice kit that was easy to make. Some parts were small, but the end result is worth the extra time.

This is my Christmas project for 2021, not enough time to make it and a bag for the felt goodies between now and the beginning of November. If you are looking for a quick kit, then this is not the one to choose. Like all of the large Bucilla kits they do take quite a lot of work, but as I have four of their Advent calendars already, I know just how stunning the results will be. I always make a separate bag to put the small ornaments in so they can be hung on the calendar each day up to Christmas Eve. We then guess to see what will come out of the bag each day. Not as easy as you would think either.I dare say many will say it isn’t an Advent calendar, but an ornament. There are no pockets to put sweeties in, butwho needs any more calories! Of course one could buy extra felt and make bags to hang on the tree. Just a thought, the possibilities are endless. 🙂

Produit très bien conçu tout le nécessaire est à l’intérieur, ce kit est destiné à une couturière un peu aguerrie. Très bel ouvrage
