Clean Beauty Bible
I have experimented with homemade health and beauty products in the past but have always lacked the time and confidence to make clean, DIY beauty a fully realized lifestyle, so for me, this book is everything! The first section is an organized breakdown (ingredients and effects) of typical store-bought products, all delivered in a way that is actually interesting to read and easy to understandâ¦It offers a really great crash course & reference guide to what we put on our face and bodies. The second section is the reason I will keep this book forever and will probably gift it to everyone I know this coming holiday season. It is basically a recipe bible with easy-to-follow instructions of pretty much every skincare product you would ever want or need. There are some more advanced areas for those who want to got the extra step of making their own ingredients (I.E. dehydrating your plant powder instead of buying), which is insightful and something to aspire toâ¦but for beginners or those with limited time, like me, the recipes and ingredients are still fully accessible. So far I’ve made lip balm, scalp serum and the shea butter face cream…all feel and work like magic. There is a bug spray recipe that is next on my queue & so many others I can’t wait to try. Honestly couldn’t recommend this book enough.

Beautiful
The recipes for your digs are on another page why not on that very page idk.It has mouth wash, deodorant, bug spray, scalp treatment, bath, and body but no toothpaste. This is the second book I got missing toothpaste!! How frustrating. The book is beautiful and does have a lot of very nice recipes. Itâs a good add to library. But not the best.

Very informative
I feel this book gave me all the information I needed to start formulating my own beauty products. I wish it had more information on natural preservatives, as most recipes only last a few days to a week but the overall idea of formulation is what I was looking for.

This is a wonderful book for beginners and more experienced makers like myself. Having researched natural butters and oils a bit already and made some creams and oils myself, I’m at a point where I want to learn more, and bring my love and experience of herbalism to making facial and body creams oils. This book is all that I wanted and hoped for, with loads more. The lovely writers are aromatherapists, among other things, and their knowledge, experience and passion for plants is clear in every part of this book. Things I love the most are the very detailed but clearly laid out lists of chemical constituents and properties for essential oils, oils and butters, a few of which I have never heard of (tomato seed oil, who knew?!) and plants. I didn’t expect a chapter on infusing some of my favourite healing plants, although I hoped they would appear somewhere, nor a whole section on fruits! I love this book! I have learnt so much already from a couple of hours of browsing and have barely glanced at the recipes. If you are a beginner or more experienced maker and want to learn more about natural plant products and making face and body creams, scrubs and oils, this is a brilliant book to have. I can’t recommend it enough.
