    Great illustrations!
Is this book is perfect for girls age 8 to 10. Not only does it show you what products do, it shows you how to use them. In fun and colorful illustrations appropriate for their age. This is exactly what I was looking for for my 8-year-old. Every page is fun and informative which keeps you engaged. And the writing is perfect for their reading level.

    Great educational book for preteens
I read the older version of this book about 15 years ago when I was in middle school and I always recommend it for younger girls! I will be buying it for my daughter when she’s older. & I just bought a copy for my niece who is 11

Good conversation topics for 10 year old girls
This is a great book for my 10 year old. It covers necessary topics without discussing certain things that she doesn’t need to learn about yet. No sex conversations. Just discussions about how her body will be changing and how to take care of it. Along with topics regarding friendships and the other things that come with becoming an adolescent.

    Great book for elementary school
My kiddo is an elementary school and I was trying to figure out a good book for her to read. My coworker made the suggestion. They keep it informative, light, enough description to explain what’s going on but not enough detail to where you’re asked a million questions and now stuck in an uncomfortable situation. They do have some diagrams and pictures in the book although I don’t remember seeing any of private areas. It taught my kiddo a lot about her body that will change as she gets a little older. We were able to discuss feminine products and it encouraged her to take a shower. Great book and I recommend it!

    The GOAT For Independent Girls
I had this book as a tween and remembered how my friends and I would pass it around like a sacred text. I bought this for my 8 year old stepdaughter and I’m shocked how influential it has been. Previously she would fight hair washing and brushing like she was defending against guerrilla warfare. Negotiating, running, creating diversions. She read the first segment of the book discussing hygiene tips and something in her shifted. She walked downstairs brushing her hair. She requested to wake up early to shower before school?????Information is power – even when you’re in third grade. A practical, approachable guide to day to day life is so empowering to young girls to take charge of their self care. I am so grateful for this book. Truly, this a resource that should be in every home with a growing girl present.

A must have for young girls!
My daughter is very anxious about her body changing and is not always sure how to ask what is going on. I got her this book to help answer any questions and give her another resource. This book is great for that. Helps describe what is going on in terms she understands and makes learning about herself fun! Highly recommended for both girls and boys!!

Highly recommended for 8–10 year-old girls
The Care and Keeping of You 1: The Body Book for Younger Girls (American Girl® Wellbeing):This book was recommended during yearly 9th year daughter’s checkup by her doctor. I think it’s pretty good to prepare young girls for body changes. It is more than just puberty information, but various things in life, emotions, and caring for oneself and body. It does lead to lots of questions but at least this book is great as explaining in age-appropriate ways some of them. My daughter really liked the book.

After extensive research, I found this to be the perfect book for my 9-year-old. It covers all aspects of the human body comprehensively, which I really appreciate. The information is presented in an engaging way, with plenty of illustrations that keep my child interested. One feature I especially value is the “body talk” sections, which address the emotions tied to each topic. These sections provide essential understanding and support for kids navigating these changes. I also appreciate that the book focuses on self-acceptance and LOVING THE BODY YOU WERE BORN WITH. Highly recommended!

This book is what I needed. It helped me start a conversation with my 9 year old daughter and go through all her questions and doubts. She started reading it as soon as it was delivered and she was done in one afternoon. It has become her guide to navigate this difficult but beautiful transition time
