    Hair Mjracle!
I’ve had this product about two weeks and I’ve been using it three times a week and already can tell my armpits are hairless and no longer grow out. It’s too early to see results on my head or face, but I will update my review in a couple months.. I can tell that it’s definitely reducing the hair follicles, but they need to be in the antigen cycle in order to be impacted. This takes time and dedication.. I’m pretty confident that there will be significant results within six months.. I tried a different brand that didn’t have the cooling window like this one and there was definitely more pain.. I strictly use this on the highest setting all over my body. There is more pain than what some people claim, but it’s very tolerable.. just make sure you shave well before you start to process.. highly recommend if you want hair removed from anywhere in your body.. I imagine my face and head will be the most challenging areas since they are densely packed with hair follicles. It might just take a little bit more perseverance but I’m confident it will work. Highly recommend.

    Perfect for Hair and Skin
This thing is amazing!I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and my skin is looking so much better. The cooling feature is just what I needed to feel comfortable, and it’s nice and quick. It’s a little pricey, but totally worth it for smooth skin like mine!

    Well worth the cost
Easy to hold, little to no pain, light is very bright, follow instructions and use the sunglasses, very effective when instructions are followed exactly

    Great home IPL device
After trying two others we settled on the Ulike home IPL device. It is solid, works well and we’re very happy with it.

It will work for some people, but the effort required?
As I said, it will work for some people, it does reduce hair. But again, I tried for a month and after that went to the professional laser hair removal with just 40-50 minute session (just ONE) I got the results that I would estimate take half a year of recommended every other day sessions with IPL (it does consume a lot of time). And the laser was totally painless compared to what you get with this product. Will not say pain is unbearable, totally tolerable. Just point that laser is painless compared to it.The price of Ulike is $400, cost of one full body session with laser near New York City $450. I will not be attaching pictures of laser hair removal since it might be taken as advertisement for this product. So it’s not a budget solution, considering the amount of time to be spent (you must shave before each session, don’t forget), also pain. Cost of laser hair removal is highly exaggerated.Even the current sale for $300 doesn’t make it much better. I would rather spend $1500 for two years of being hair free hours with professional laser solution. Just think about 500 – 800 hours (2hrs: shave/IPL every other day) with Ulike. If you spend that time doing overtime at work, cost of professional laser treatment is easily justified. But do your research about professional laser hair removal, and don’t get caught in the money extortion schemes that some spas employ.

Good quality IPL, fast auto-flashing, ICE cooling, double flashes. Model UIM20.
I have reviewed a lot of IPL devices. Mostly they’re pretty unimpressively similar to one another. That said, a handful of brands, among the large number I have tested, have stood out. One of those is Ulike. These tend to offer premium performance and quality build (though at a price).Note that while this is sold as a “men’s” IPL (relatively unusual), it’s not clear to me that there’s much difference between this IPL and those commonly marketed primarily to women. Honestly, this should be suitable for both sexes–just like most IPLs.Features of this IPL include:1) The refractory period between flashes in automatic mode is faster than most2) The ICE cooling/local epidermal cooling effect is appreciably better on this device than on many I’ve tested. The head remains very cool even during a long use period. This is of significant value if you plan to use this device in automatic mode, where you’ll be flashing your skin very rapidly.3) Double flashing. The IPL provides two flashes very closely together, which should improve efficiency. The performance of this IPL is unquesitonably superior to many of the IPL devices I’ve tested (and I have tested a lot).Specifics of this IPL device:** Only performs hair removal.** Includes ICE skin cooling functionality** Three power levels (fast, normal, high)** No LCD readout of flash number (rated for 300,000 flashes)** “Oblong” shaped unit** The power cord attaches to the end of the unit (see photos)** No attachments to change the flash end shapeUsing very slow-motion photography, I captured a snapshot of the light (see photos). But the light duration is extremely short. You run the tool over the area where you want to remove hair and make sure you expose all the hair follicles in that region. You will see no immediate results. The light signals your hair to stop growing, but it requires multiple treatments over several weeks before you will be expected to see results. Eventually, you should find a substantial reduction in the hair in the treated areas. This device provides “Ice” cooling, and is far more effective at cooling than many IPL devices I’ve tested. This is particularly important for a device like this, which can flash very quickly. “Ice” is another term for “local epidermal cooling.”This is local cooling of the surface skin where the IPL light pulse is being applied.Epidermal cooling is optional for efficient use, but it may make it less unpleasant to use the device for some users. This IPL performs double flashing, where two flashes in quick succession occur when you press the flash button. This helps shorten the length of treatment per session. In the box, you get the tool, a power cord, a pair of eye protection glasses, an inexpensive portable razor, a soft-sided travel bag, plus instructions. While this is one of the more expensive IPL devices sold on Amazon, this unit does justify the added cost in a few ways: A relatively short refractory period between flashes, double flashing, and very powerful ICE cooling.Pros:** Fast refractory period between flashes** Double flashing** More powerful than typical ICE cooling** Feels very solidly built.Cons:** No additional focusing heads** Oblong shape may not appeal to everyone** Among the more expensive IPL devices** No LCD readout of number of flashes** The power output of the power adapter is not indicated

First thing I found kinda funny is how well the included glasses fit my face. lol Over the years I must’ve tried on hundreds of pairs of sunglasses and maybe found 3 that fit me properly. And here I just stick them on and instantly get a compliment. Hilarious. They’re obviously not traditional sunglasses because of the very specific dark lens, but if it weren’t for that extra joint on the side, you might’ve met me at the club rockin’ them. LOL Jokes. Well, maybe…Anyway, I absolutely love how the device was packaged. Very neat and sly with all the boxes to separate the items and the device was nice and secure at the bottom. It was a bit larger and heavier than I was expecting, not gonna lie, but it does get easier to hold once you get used to it. Would’ve been nice if it were battery powered because the cord can sometimes get in the way, but it really does need it for the power, which is exceptional. As for the included razor, the small stem actually makes it better for the underarms (which was my target), but I still had to use my own 2-bladed razor to get a super close shave. I’m pretty thin so 2 blades is a bit more precise, but the extra blades they provide is so much better for larger areas like the legs or chest. VERY important to get a close shave before using the device because it really needs to get close to the skin to reach the melanin inside the follicles. It’s also important to look at the chart and make sure that you have the right skin and hair tones/colours before ordering. I was fortunate enough to be close to the border with the skin tone (I’m a fair skin but tanned dude), and already found a striking difference on my dark brown hair after just over 2 weeks. Pretty easy to measure too since my hair grows at a very predictable rate weekly. But it’s so good that I’m already debating going to the fast mode now just for maintenance. Until now, the high mode was my go-to and I haven’t missed a session so I’ve been very consistent. In terms of sensation, it’s not painful AT ALL. In fact there’s a bit of a cooling feel to the glass after it’s been working for a while, probably to counteract the lights. It’s actually slightly more annoying just holding the weight of the thing tbh, but I’ll take the minor inconvenience over the lack of results any day. Fortunately, this thing is so much more effective than I was expecting.Really though I don’t have much to compare it to since I’ve never used an IPL device before, but the only way I could test its effectiveness was to basically stop shaving after 2 weeks. Remember that you need to be clean shaven EVERY time you use the device so it’s difficult to tell whether it’s working initially. I don’t know about you, but my hair growth absolutely slows down if I don’t shave for a week or two, and speeds up if I shave every day. In order to keep consistent, I’ve been shaving every other day so it should be growing back quickly and more dense, but it’s the opposite now. This thing is great. Probably still gonna be using the high mode for a few more weeks though until I don’t see any more growth. But remember that consistency is KEY, especially when you’re starting out. If you know you won’t be able to fit it into your schedule, IPL might not be for you.So yeah, overall I’m quite happy with it myself. Pretty sure I’ll be moving onto the chest once I get the underarms done, and I have no doubt that it’ll perform admirably. It’s definitely one of those deals that requires a bit of work at the beginning to get long term results, but it’s good to know that it actually works and isn’t just an expensive dud or scam. Kinda would’ve been nice if the unit was smaller (for comfort) and with a wider aperture (for speed), but it is what it is. 4.8/5 stars from me.

I picked this up to reduce/stop mostly stray hairs. I’m getting older and I have hairs growing in places I did not when I was younger. A few spots require someone else to use this on me, so I do wish it came with 2 pairs of glasses, for most people they can do this on their own and one will work, but I’m working with ears, neck, forhead and just below my eyes. I would say after 4 weeks I’m 50% of the way there. I think I would have seen more results if I just needed overall hair reduction, but I’m working with select areas. The the does it work question – Yes its visible. Can you do this yourself? Yes and No, it will depend on the area, because I have some tricky areas, I need help. Toes, feet, and the majority of the body is reachable, but if your area that needs work is tricky or close to something you might need some help, it’s still way less embarassing though, which is a big reason I am willing to try this and not just go to the saloon to get it done, also way easier.Does it hurt? Nope, a couple of times I do notice a tingle, and the skin feels almost dry/mild sunburn after using it for about 24 hours. I did have a bit of itch also, nothing major, and totally worth it.Anything I was not expectiing? Yep, the smell, it smells like burnt hair, at first I thought I needed a tighter shave, but it still has a burnt hair smell. So make sure you have a fan on. The light, when two people are in the room the light is very bright, so a second set of glasses would have been nice.I did not see much differece after my first week using this, and it was not until I noticed that things were not growing back that I really felt it was working, for me that was the 4 week mark. If you hair grows quicker or slower, you may need to adjust your expectations. It’s cheaper and way better to do this after home. Even with a selective amount of removal, its still just so much easier.

I have to say I’m impressed by this device. Having never tried IPL hair removal before, I didn’t really know what to expect, but I do know that I have some hair I’d like to get rid of.Once you get the hang of it, it’s very easy to use. You just glide it on your skin and it flashes to remove your hair. The burning smell is a little concerning at first, but it’s normal, as it’s actually burning, in a way, the root of your hair. Doing a patch test at first is also a very good idea to see if your skin can handle it, and you have to be careful, as it only works on lighter shades of skin. After a few uses, you can already clearly see a difference, which is pretty amazing from my novice point of view. It does need to be used a few times over a few weeks before you can start using it much more sparsely, but if you need to get rid of hair, it works wonders.Of note, it is a very expensive device though, but it works extremely well, so it’s up to each individual to know if it’s really worth it for them. One thing I know for sure is that it’s absolutely working.

I waited a while to review this item as it was quite a significant and expensive item to find on Amazon vine. I couldn’t believe when I saw it available. I grabbed it. I am a medium/dark blonde with fair skin. Platinum blonde as a kid. Like many natural blondes, I don’t actually struggle with a lot of excess body hair, but this has been useful for bikini line and under arms. The hair there is dark enough that it seems to work. IPL hair removaldoes not work if you have darker skin or particularly fair hair on pale skin. Perhaps it has something to do with the contrast of skin against hair. I’m not exactly sure of the science, but they do make it very clear who the ideal consumer of this product is, so be sure to read all of those details in the listing before purchasing.I really felt I needed to give this several weeks of consistent use in order to be able to adequately review the product. I have had IPL in the doctor’s office to treat my rosacea before and, I suppose it’s a stronger power level there, but it also hurts so much more. This thing doesn’t hurt at all. Like, at all! I even put it on the highest power on my second try. There is a slight cooling sensation, but it’s super fast to cover smaller areas. I haven’t had the patience to try and do my legs yet. But I’m definitely seeing reduced growth in the bikini and under arm areas and I really wasn’t sure I would be convinced.

I’ve been using the hair removal device for a few weeks now, and I’m pleasantly surprised by the results. Although the product is marketed for men, I found it works just as well for women—don’t let the name fool you! It’s a bit of a learning curve at first, especially with figuring out how to properly use the device and understanding the settings, but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty easy to use. You definitely have to use the included glasses and ensure no one else in the room is within flash area, as it could be dangerous for the eyes. The cooling feature is fantastic! It helps a lot with keeping the process comfortable, especially on more sensitive areas like the underarms and bikini line. I was concerned it would be painful, but the cooling system keeps everything at a manageable temperature, which makes a huge difference in reducing discomfort.I’ve been using it on my legs, underarms, and a few other areas, and I’m already seeing noticeable hair reduction after just a few weeks. I’ve been doing it consistently, and it’s getting easier to use over time.I also did some research and discovered that it’s not recommended for use on tattoos, so I’ve been careful around those areas, but that’s something I had to research a bit. I’m curious to see if it’ll help with a tattoo I’ve already been treating with laser removal…The device is definitely starting to work as promised, and I’m seeing hair thinning in the areas I’ve treated so far. The auto-glide feature is great for larger areas, like legs, and makes it quick to get through treatments. The dual-light system is faster, so it’s not a lengthy process, and I can see myself getting through a full-body session in about 10 minutes.
